Current Update

Greetings newcomers! I've been at this for a while and just now decided to make a Blogspot page to host these compilations. I'm hoping to attract many more Nu/Alternative Metal fans (With the 'While You Were Sleeping' sets), Death Metal fans (With the 'Buried In The North' sets) and Doom Metal fans (With the 'For Funerals To Come' sets) in the coming months and i'm not done with any of these compilations.

I've gotten into the double digit mark with both the WYWS/FFTC sets and I plan to have a second BITN compilation out in the summer! Check them out and give feedback and don't forget to further check out the bands you really like. If for whatever reason you want to get ahold of me, send an email to redxonxwhite @ gmail.com or find me on one of the various places I lurk around on the internet like Last.FM or RateYourMusic.

Mission Statement

What is the point of all this?
I'm honestly trying to make a difference, as weird as it may seem. I believe in music and I believe that a lot of bands get the short end of the stick who really deserve better. My goal is to promote bands/albums that may have been overlooked or are underappreciated by people who should be paying attention. This style of deliverance isn't for everyone, but my goal is to get these bands into the ears of people who may not have heard them before. I'm just one person, but i'm trying to do what record labels and promoters and agents and managers should have done for these bands, whether it's a forgotten Nu Metal band who got signed to a short, major label or a one man Doom Metal project who may never get a label deal... this is me trying to make a difference. My main rule is that I do not repeat a band in any compilation series. I don't want to push any sort of copyright confrontations, so I make it a strict rule to myself not to put more than one track from a group up for download at any point. It doesn't matter if it was a band who was on one of the very first compilation volumes, that is the track I chose to show them off with and that's the only track I will be posting up from them. I want people to hear a track from a band, let it sink in and if they like it maybe they can hunt down an LP/EP and enjoy the group further. It's not about free discography accessibility like some wasteful pages... it's about mapping out the genres I feel strongly about. For every group you like, there's probably another 15-20 from the same style who you could love just as much, if not more. If you're happy with the 10-15 bands you really like and don't want to dive any further, then this page is probably not for you. But for the rest of us.... I hope everyone get's some level of enjoyment out of the work i've put forth.
